Slow Beam is an architecturally designed house, created specifically for a unique Hobart getaway. You can expect to experience Australian design and artworks by the likes of Grant Featherston, Esther Stewart, Anna Varendorff, Ebony Truscott, Kirsten Perry and Fred Ganim.

Every window view has been considered by the designer, Hearth Studio. Not just the expansive river and city views, but also to provide glimpses throughout the house to the natural sandstone and bush surroundings.

We provide complimentary, Taylor & Smith cocktails and Le Labo toiletries to all of our guests.

We have a fully functioning kitchen and a laundry equipped with a washer/dryer.

When you are a guest at Slow Beam, you have exclusive access to the house and grounds. We are set on a quarter acre block, very steep, surrounded by trees, wallabies and other native wildlife, with views of the Derwent River and beyond. Feel free to roam high up into the backyard. The outdoor dining terrace provides views through the trees to the water and city.

A functioning wood fireplace can be used for heat and ambience in the colder months or temperature can be controlled year round in each space using the reverse cycle heat pump for heating and cooling.

We also have a private driveway and parking space, which is available to all guests throughout the duration of the stay.

We are pleased to offer all of our guests a very late check out of 2pm.
